While we got exposure to the international markets and learned how our tech can be helpful in global markets, we also received input from version V1 from the clients we worked with.
And that was all positive to start. The products were performing in optimising their energy systems- both supply and usage.
But there was one big problem!
You know, we primarily operate on a subscription-based pricing model. The break-even period (the time taken to recover our costs of product and deployment) for our product version V1 was longer than expected. So, we had our task cut out.
The focus for us was to bring down the break-even period to at least 0.5x of the earlier.
So, our technical team sat together to revamp the V1 architecture and build from the basics. This allowed us to bring in certain aspects of design, that would allow us to be cost-effective and also improve the versatility of the product.
The versatility of the product was important because the V1 was limited to certain types of building infrastructure and certain sizes.
Hence, we immediately started working on V2, where the work was to redesign all the aspects of the product including hardware, firmware and the AI aspects.
This work was going to take us a year or so. Meanwhile, we felt we could keep rolling out the V1 in the market for beta testing to find out the complexities that are involved in integration and implement the received feedback for V2.
One other thing which we also did, was to enable the SaverX and Soul, to work independently of each other and when required, can be bundled together as well. This would allow us to address the varieties of commercial buildings and industries.
But there was one thing left, that kept us wondering for a while, how do we make this tech scalable to the international markets? What are the technical challenges that need to be addressed?
